Top 3 Cork Events this Bank Holiday

Need some help with your bank holiday plans? Cork Innovates has you covered – here’s the top 3 events you should be checking out this long weekend in Cork!

1. Cork Pride

Cork Pride kicked off this week, with a range of events taking place across Cork. Aside from the annual parade, there’s lot to do for all the family this coming weekend.

The event theme this year is The Original Rebels – which can mean different things to different people, and is intentionally ambiguous.

The weekend is about unity, with the people of Cork coming together to celebrate everything and everyone.

Check them out on Twitter to keep up to date with the upcoming festivities.

2. Happenings with 7up Free Presents Summer Cinema – Stand By Me

For the movie lovers out there, the outdoor movie screenings return to Fitgerald’s Park, this Friday 29th July at 8pm. The event has become so popular over the last few years, and we for one are glad to have it back!

Tickets are on sale on a first come first served basis, so it might be good to pop along a little early to avoid disappointment.

Tonight’s film is the classic Stand By Me, so have the tissues at the ready for this little trip down memory lane. Check out the Film’s at Fitzy’s website for more info.

 3. Skibbereen Arts Festival

Skibb-Arts-Festival-2016 If you fancy hopping in the car and doing a little exploring, well then West Cork is the answer. Skibbereen is hosting its annual arts festival, with festivities wrapping up this bank holiday weekend.

There’s fun for all the family, with arts and crafts, poetry readings, drama recitals and a range of musical talent.

With beautiful villages and islands surrounding Skibbereen, you could even make a weekend of it! And why not, that’s what long weekends are all about, right?
