Cork will be one of the hosts of the startup Gathering 2015 on 7 October, an initiative of day-long events promoting entrepreneurship and showcasing Ireland’s startup sector to a domestic and international audience.
From 5-10 of October, a series of events in each of the five city regions around the country will be promoted to national and international audiences. The five cities involved in the Startup Gathering are; Dublin, cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford, with over 50 events to be held in these regions.
Cork Innovates aim to enhance the positioning of the region as a place which offers entrepreneurs globally and locally, the best environment to start, grow and stay their business successfully, have become a natural vehicle to promote the Cork City Region Open Day.
Siobhan Finn, Cork Innovates Project Director, has been appointed to the role of region coordinator by the Department of jobs Enterprise and Innovation. The goal for the Startup Gathering 2015 is to facilitate in excess of 50 events and networking opportunities nationally for the week for at least 15,000 visitors, supporting conditions for the creation of at least 2,500 new jobs in the following 12 months.
