Founder of IDME Dee O’Leary has won the €30,000 Cork Innovates business support bursary at the InBusiness InCork 2013 showcase. IDME produces identity wristbands for children and medical emergencies.
IDME triumphed over five other companies – The Dog Dunit, Delta Streams, IDME, Vconnecta, Walton Magazine – who competed for the prize at a live pitching session during the showcase. O’Leary was selected by a prestigious judging panel comprising representatives from Cork Innovates, the Rubicon Centre in CIT, AIB and EY.
The showcase took place in Cork City Hall and was attended by over 2,000 business people and entrepreneurs. The event featured 50+ exhibitors highlighting the services they can provide for entrepreneurs. The speaking line-up boasted speakers from all walks of life including 2012 Olympic Gold Medallist, Rob Heffernan; Sean Sherlock T.D.; comedian Colm O’Regan; as well as many local entrepreneurial success stories such as WhatSalon, Spice O’Life and EazyCity.
